Pine Needles is one of the wet felt techniques which I use to make beautiful lacy felt. I was inspired by the pine needles spread on the snow in the mid90’s in my home town of Sapporo, Japan.
More recently I came across a beautiful lace which was invented in the 19th century in Borris village where I live in Ireland. After I made a few pieces of lace, I came back to my own material, wool.
This is one of the variations of the Pine Needles technique, an homage to Borris Lace.
In this 3 days class, we are going to learn the basics of the Pine Needles technique with different applications of its surface design.
